Osika Signed For 2022 Season

The Hamilton Cardinals, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) are pleased to announce their first signing of the 2022 season.

Shortstop Tristan Osika (Ancaster, ON) returns for his 2^nd IBL season. Last year Osika was named to the IBL’s Second Team All-star even though he split the summer playing both Hamilton JR and with the IBL club. In his rookie season the switch hitting Osika hit .357 (25-70) in 18 games with 2 doubles, 1 homerun while driving in 9 and playing stellar defense.

“Tristan, did a great job with us last season. As the season progressed, he gained more confidence and took on more leadership responsibilities. He had a tremendous first season, and he is the type of local young player you want to have part of your core team for many years. He’s fun to watch, plays hard and fits in well with our veterans and in the clubhouse”. Stated GM Jeff Lounsbury.

Tristan is at Indiana Tech, where he is entering his Sophomore year. I'm really grateful for the opportunity, I think we are going to do big things this year and I can't wait to get started.”

The Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club is a member of Canada's best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
