Hamilton Cardinals Sign Utility Player Jaden Brown for 2025 Season

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of utility infielder and outfielder Jaden Brown for the 2025 IBL season.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, the Mississauga, Ontario native was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 2019 MLB Draft while attending St. Marcellinus Secondary School. Brown was also a member of the Canadian Junior National Team and the Ontario Blue Jays before attending college.

Brown began his collegiate career at Iowa Western Community College in 2021, where he batted .274 with two home runs, 18 RBIs, and 32 runs scored in 38 games. He then spent the 2022 season at the University of Texas at Arlington, appearing in 36 games and recording 21 hits, eight RBIs, and a .355 on-base percentage.

Transferring to Austin Peay State University, Brown had a breakout year in 2023, starting 40 games while hitting .275 with seven home runs, 10 doubles, and 36 RBIs. He posted a .477 slugging percentage and a .385 on-base percentage while maintaining a 28-game on-base streak.

In 2024, Brown continued to impress, earning Third Team All-ASUN honours after an outstanding season in which he batted .365 with 54 hits, eight home runs, and 43 RBIs in 39 games. He recorded a .601 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage while delivering clutch performances, including a five-RBI game against Florida Gulf Coast and a 16-game hitting streak in which he hit .419.
