Hamilton Cardinals Sign Left Handed Reliever Logan Warkentin
The Hamilton Cardinals have signed left handed reliever Logan Warkentin for the upcoming 2025 season.
Warkentin, a native of Domain, Manitoba, began his collegiate career as an outfielder at Williston State College (Williston, North Dakota) from 2021 to 2023. In his best season (2021-22), he posted a .357 batting average with 51 hits, 42 RBIs, and 22 extra-base hits in 46 games. Over two seasons, he totalled a .345 average, a .431 on-base percentage, and a .486 slugging percentage.
Following his time at Williston, Warkentin transferred to Morningside University (Sioux City, Iowa), where he transitioned into a pitching role. In two seasons (2022-24), the left-handed pitcher made 27 appearances, recording a 3.91 ERA over 46.0 innings. He struck out 50 batters with a 9.78 K/9 rate while securing eight saves. His ability to pitch in key situations made him a valuable asset on the mound.
In addition to his collegiate career, Warkentin gained experience playing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, further developing his skills at the professional level. Now joining the Cardinals, the Warkentin looks to bring his all-around skillset and two-way versatility to the team.
The Cardinals are set to open their 2025 season at home on Friday, May 16, and fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early at CardinalsTickets.ca.
