Hamilton Cardinals sign Justin Groves

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of outfielder Justin Groves for the 2025 season!

The Peterborough native joins the team following an outstanding collegiate career at Erie Community College and Humber College. Known for his powerful bat, speed, and on-base discipline, Groves has established himself as one of the most well-rounded players in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).

Groves began his collegiate career at Erie Community College in 2019, where he showed early promise by hitting .286 in a short 5-game stint. He transferred to Humber College in 2022, and over the next three seasons, Groves became one of the most consistent performers in the OCAA. Over 53 games, Groves posted a .387 career batting average, with 50 runs, 58 hits, 49 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. He was imposing in his final season (2024-25), hitting a career-high .472 with 23 RBIs and a .660 on-base percentage. Groves demonstrated power and patience at the plate, finishing with a .513 on-base percentage and a .593 slugging percentage across his three seasons.

With his blend of power, speed, and strong on-base skills, Groves is poised to be a key contributor to the Hamilton Cardinals in 2025.

Fans can look forward to watching Groves showcase his talents when the Cardinals kick off their season at home on Friday, May 16, against the Brantford Red Sox. Be sure to secure your season tickets now at CardinalsTickets.ca!
