Hamilton Cardinals Re-Sign Reliever Steven Hospital for 2025 Season

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the return of reliever Steven Hospital for the 2025 season.

A local talent from Oakville, Hospital made his IBL debut with the Cardinals on June 21, 2024. In 10 appearances, he pitched 15.2 innings, recorded 16 strikeouts, and posted a 4.60 ERA.

Before joining the Cardinals, Hospital was a key contributor at Niagara University, where he helped the Purple Eagles win the MAAC Championship. Over five collegiate seasons, he set a program record with 93 career appearances, pitching 128 innings almost exclusively out of the bullpen. Known for his reliability and consistency, Hospital was a standout in Niagara’s bullpen.

“Steven joined us after capturing the MAAC Championship in his senior year and immediately brought consistency and energy to our bullpen,” said Cardinals Owner Eric Spearin. “He showed remarkable poise, particularly during the playoffs. We’re excited to have him for a full season in 2025 and look forward to him bringing the same stability he was known for at Niagara University.”

The Hamilton Cardinals will kick off their 2025 season at home on Friday, May 16, against the Brantford Red Sox. Season tickets are available now at CardinalsTickets.ca.
