Hamilton Cardinals Re-Sign Chris Boatto for 2025 Season

The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the re-signing of left-handed relief pitcher Chris Boatto for the 2025 Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) season.

Hailing from Maple, Ontario, Boatto brings a wealth of experience and consistency to the Cardinals bullpen. Boatto is a graduate of Alderson Broaddus University, where he played four seasons and had a career 4.35 ERA over 211 innings and 136 strikeouts.

Boatto joined the Cardinals mid-season in 2024 following a trade from the Welland Jackfish, immediately making an impact with his reliability on the mound. Across four regular season appearances with Hamilton, he posted an impressive 1.35 ERA over 6.2 innings and not issuing a single walk.

Entering his eighth IBL season, Boatto has appeared in 101 games, recording 12 wins, 17 losses, 12 saves, and a cumulative 4.43 ERA across 284.1 innings pitched. Known for his control and ability to deliver in high-leverage situations, he has tallied 248 strikeouts while issuing just 88 walks.

“Chris has embraced Hamilton as his new home, bringing invaluable veteran leadership and extensive IBL experience to our organization,” said Cardinals Owner Eric Spearin. “He has emerged as a vocal leader in our bullpen and continues to be a reliable and effective presence on the mound.”

The Hamilton Cardinals will open their 2025 season at home on Friday, May 16, against the Brantford Red Sox. Season tickets are now available at CardinalsTickets.ca.
