Duncan Signs With Cardinals
The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the signing of OF Tyler Duncan (Sooke, BC). Duncan just recently graduated from Arkansas State University where he was a 2021 2nd Team All-Sun Belt All-Star. In his senior year, Tyler hit .303(60-198) with 13 2B’s, 2 3B’s, 11 HR’s and 54 RBI’s. The Seattle Mariner’s originally drafted Duncan in 2016, in the 30th round, before going to University.
Duncan was also a member of the Canadian JNT with another new member of the Hamilton Cardinals (who will be announced tomorrow).
“Duncan will make an immediate impact in our lineup, he will slot into the middle of the order giving us a power bat and good defense. A talent like Duncan’s doesn’t easily arrive, but we will take every minute we can get and help him reach his personal goals. Being new to the Hammer, I am sure he will grow to love the community, the IBL and everything Hamilton has to offer as a home.” GM Jeff Lounsbury.
Hamilton will kick off their 2022 season on the road against the Red Sox in Brantford on Friday May 20th (8pm start) and against the Barrie Baycats on May 21st (4pm start). The home opener for the Cardinals will go Sunday May 22nd when the team hosts the Guelph Royals. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05pm.
The Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club is a member of Canada's best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
