CARDINALS RE-SIGN OUTFIELDER DEI BANING

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals announced today the re-signing of outfielder Dennis Dei Baning for the upcoming 2023 season, his second with the team.

Dei Baning, a graduate from Humber College, burst onto the scene with the Cardinals in limited time during the 2022 regular season, displaying his ability as a hitter and the overwhelming potential to succeed in the league. In only six games during the 2022 season, Dei Baning had a slashline of .409/.500/.955, a 1.455 OPS, four home runs, eight RBI’s, and four walks.

The 26-year old native of Toronto, ON, received many accolades during his time at Humber, including being 2x OCAA Champion, 2021 OCAA Player of the Year and a 2x OCAA League All-Star. Dei Baning recently played with the Fort McMurray Giants of the Western Canadian League and will look to build upon his strong play, heading into his third season in the IBL.

“Dennis adds to an already-athletic outfield core with Dunc and Keyes,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “There’s obviously a bat in there that can do damage in our lineup, and his athleticism gives him a chance to perform on a daily basis.”
