Cardinals Re-Sign Lazar
The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the return of 3 Time IBL All-Star LHP Chris Lazar.
Chris returns for his 6th IBL season after graduating from the University of Sioux Falls. In his career, Lazar has a 17-18 record with 158 strikeouts in 266.2 Innings pitched. Last season, Lazar had a 3-3 record with an ERA of 4.12, he recorded 41 strikeouts and 5 walks in 48 Innings.
“We are happy to have Chris return. He is a crafty veteran lefty who gives us a chance to win each time he takes the mound. He competes, but also he enjoys the game and wants to win. He is also a core member of the Hamilton franchise and he wears his heart on his sleeve and wants to win in Hamilton.” GM Jeff Lounsbury
Lazar stated “Last year didn’t really go the way we wanted and we’ve worked hard all off-season to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We know we have something to prove as an organization and I’m very confident that we will do just that. Very excited about what management has done this winter and I can’t wait till everybody else gets to see the results on the field this summer.”
The Hamilton Cardinals Baseball Club is a member of Canada's best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
