Cardinals Re-sign IBL All-Star Justin Gideon
HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the re-signing of 1st team 2019 IBL-All Star Outfielder Justin Gideon for the 2020 season.
"I thought it was important to get Justin signed early and let our fans know that we are back and ready to compete for the IBL championship this year. Justin is an elite player and brings heart and hustle to each game he plays" stated GM Jeff Lounsbury
Justin has played in 204 consecutive IBL games since joining the league (we are not sure what the IBL record is). Last season was Justin's first in Hamilton and he led the team in average, hits, doubles and stolen bases. He hit .346 ( 54-156) with 14 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homeruns, 19 rbi's and 12 sb's.
“One of the easiest decisions of my life was re-signing with the Cardinals. We had a successful year finishing near the top of the league. While it was considered a success, there isn’t a single guy on the team that is satisfied with finishing third. We know that we are only a couple pieces away from being the clear cut favourites in the league, and the thought of that is extremely exciting. I’m looking forward to another great year with great players in Hamilton.” said Gideon.
The Hamilton Cardinals will be announcing more signings shortly, and season ticket's are now on sale on the team's website.
