Cardinals make a splash and sign Brandon Nicholson

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of IF/OF Brandon Nicholson.

Nicholson, a native of Orchard Park, NY has most recently played for the Welland Jackfish in the 2023 season. Nicholson holds the IBL record for stolen bases in a single season, a record he set in 2022 with 48 stolen bases. Nicholson is currently batting .293 in 58 plate appearances in the 2023 IBL season. To date, Nicholson has played 109 IBL games in his career, amassing 96 stolen bases, 114 runs and 74 RBIs in that timeframe. He has the versatility to play both the infield and outfield for the Cardinals. Prior to the IBL, Nicholson played at Canisus College in Buffalo, NY.

“For us to attract a player of Nicholson’s quality speaks to what our lineup has been able to accomplish so far,” said George Halim, Hamilton Cardinals General Manager. “We expect him to wreak havoc everywhere, and it’ll be fun watching him play in Hamilton.”
